Opaque watercolour with gold on wasli. 20.9 x 17.8cmIn many Rasikapriya illustrations the nayaka (romantic hero) is depicted as Krishna and his nayika (heroine) as Radha. Here the sakhi (companion) of Radha approaches Krishna to mediate in matters of love. In this dispersed series the paintings alternate between those with yellow backgrounds and those with blue. Many examples have been published.
