Folio from a Mahimna stotra, a popular poem in praise of the greatness of Shiva by Pushpadanata Acharya. A Shaivaite ascetic prapares a fire scarifice for the benefit of Krishna and Balarama , both of whose foreheads have Shaivite tilak marks giving emphasis th the latter's supremacy amongst the gods.
