Princess visiting a celebrated yogini at her hermitage. Bikaner, circa late 18th century. Opaque watercolour with gold on wasli. 25 x 14.5cm
The inscription in the lower border written in nastaliq refers to Sindhuri also known as Kesarwi, wife of Vibhasa. However this does not seem to apply to the subject of the painting.
With thanks to the kindness of Tarun Pant for translating the inscription.
