Princess sitting at a window, behind her a flat pane of grey, a gold-hemmed sheer dupatta over her head and shoulders, wearing necklaces and earrings of large pearls with ruby, in one hand a delicate flower held toward her nose, with two fine embroidered textiles of the same floral design one as a blind rolled up above her the other draped over the window ledge. Mughal at Awadh, circa 1730. Opaque watercolour with gold on wasli pasted onto plain light reddish-brown borders. Folio 21.6 x 14.1cm; picture 13.4 x 7.6cm.

San Diego Museum,Portrait of Muhammad Shah by Nidha Mal, circa 1730, 12.4 x 8.5cm, Binney Collection, Acc. no. 1990.376. Shares the same grey flat-planed interior, design of hanging blind and window-ledge drape, with the emperor wearing similarly large pearl jewellery.
