A Sat Sai by Bihari Lal. Amber, circa 1800. Manuscript with its facing pages mostly with panels of verse in Devanagri above and below an opaque watercolour with gold illustration, the matching borders with repeating floral motifs and stylised floral bands, the pages mostly coming loose from their binding. Page 31.7 x 22.3cm (approx.).

Provenance:

Personal library of Nawab Siddique Ali Khan subsequently passed down through family by descent. Nawab Siddique Ali Khan was the husband of ruler Nawab Shah Jahan Begum, Knight Grand Commander of the Order of the Star of India, Companion of the Order of the Crown of India, ruler of the princely state of Bhopal 1844-60 and 1868-1901.
